January: Start of the New Year in Valencia

January in Valencia means the start of the new year and a quieter time to explore the city. Although there are fewer major festivals, Valencia does offer a friendly atmosphere and some cultural events. 01 January –New Year's dive at Malvarrosa beach: fresh into the year!

06 January – Epiphany parade: magic for young and old in the city.

20 January - Fiestas de San Vicente Mártir On Jan. 20, Valencia celebrates the Fiestas de San Vicente Mártir, in honor of the city's patron saint. There are colorful processions through the city and local celebrations. Admission is free, and the festivities begin in the morning.

Whole month – Festival de Jazz de Valencia: swinging evenings to warm sounds.

January to February - Festival de Jazz de Valencia In January, you can also enjoy the Festival de Jazz de Valencia, where talented jazz musicians from the region and internationally keep the city swinging. Shows take place at the Sala Ruzafa and Palau de la Música. Tickets range from €10 to €30, depending on the artist.



February: Carnival and Culture

February brings a festive atmosphere to Valencia with Carnival and more cultural events. February 14 - Valentine's Eve at the Ciutat de les Arts: romance with a view!

15 to 22 February - Carnaval de Valencia                  The city comes alive with colorful parades, costumes and music during the Carnaval de Valencia. This is the time for a party! The parades move through the city, offering an unforgettable experience for residents and visitors alike. Admission is free, but tickets for certain activities, such as special shows, may be available starting at €10.

23 to February - Feria del Libro The Feria del Libro is a literary event where you can buy books by local and international authors. It is held in the Plaza de la Virgen and is perfect for book lovers. Admission is free, but books are on sale from €5 to €30, depending on the title.




March: Spring and Las Fallas

March is one of the busiest and most spectacular months in Valencia thanks to Las Fallas, but the month has other highlights as well.

1 to 19 March - Las Fallas The city is all about Las Fallas. From colorful sculptures to fireworks and parades, Las Fallas is the highlight of the year. Admission is free for most events, although for exclusive experiences such as concerts and dinners, prices can range from €20 to €50.

3 March - La Marató de València 

March 3 sees the Marató de València, one of Spain's biggest marathons. Whether you participate yourself or stand along the route as a spectator, it's a great way to experience the city. Spectators can enjoy the atmosphere for free, while participants must register.

08 March – International womansday: Expect exhibitions, debates and art around women's rights. There are free activities all over the city.

19 March – La Cremà: The grand finale of Las Fallas where all the statues go up in flames. Breathtaking and emotional at the same time.

April: Festivals and Culture

April is a month full of festivals, from music to sports to local markets.

6 to 10 april - La Feria del MariscoIn Valencia's port, enjoy the Feria del Marisco and sample the best seafood. Admission is free, but dishes cost between €5 and €20. The event is open daily from noon to 11 p.m.

20 to 27 april - Valencia Tennis

For sports fans, the Valencia Tennis Open from April 20 to 27 is the event to attend. This prestigious ATP tournament offers the chance to see world-class players in action on the tennis court. The city comes alive with exciting matches and a lively atmosphere - perfect for a day out! Matches take place from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Club de Tenis Valencia. Tickets start at €15 for the first rounds and can go up to €50 for the finals and top matches.

23 April – Día del Libro: Gift giving? In Valencia, on this day you get a book as well as a flower.

24 to 28 April - Mostra de Vins i AlimentsDuring the Mostra de Vins i Aliments, you can taste the best wines and local delicacies in the Jardín del Turia. Tickets cost €5, and you get a tasting of different wines and artisan products.



May: Flowers and wine

In May, the city blooms, and you can see that in the events that beautify the entire season.

Whole month May - Fiesta de la Flor The Fiesta de la Flor is a colorful flower festival that brightens up the city with flower parks and installations. It is a wonderful way to experience Valencia's nature. Admission is free.

01 May– Labor Day: Local families move into the parks for picnics. Many stores closed, but conviviality everywhere.

17 May - Museum Day: All museums have free admission. A great opportunity to soak up culture without an entrance fee.

19 May and 22 May – OceanFEST at Oceanogràfic


June: Summer Nights and Music

Summer is just around the corner, and June offers many music and dance parties under the stars.

5 to 8 June - Festival de Música en la Ciudad de Valencia This music festival, which runs from June 5 to 8, offers a great opportunity to explore the city with music of different genres. From jazz to flamenco and pop, there is something for everyone. Admission is often free for the outdoor performances, while tickets for larger shows are available from €10.

21 June – Summer Solstice: Celebrate the longest day of the year on the beach. With campfires, music and magical rituals.

Whole month June - Verano de Cine During the summer vacations, Valencia hosts the Verano de Cine, a series of open-air film screenings. Enjoy classic and modern films under the stars. Admission is free for most screenings.



July: Summer Parties and Sports

July is the height of summer in Valencia, with many outdoor events.

7 to 9 July - Gran Premio de la Comunidad Valenciana For sports fans, the Gran Premio de la Comunidad Valenciana is one of the biggest motorsports events of the year. Races take place at the Circuito Ricardo Tormo, and tickets start at €25 for practice to €70 for the finals.

Whole month July - Feria de Julio The Feria de Julio is a huge summer festival with performances, parades, music and local markets. It lasts for a month and provides a great opportunity to experience the city in a festive mood. Many of the events are free, although admission for some concerts and shows can be around €15 12 July – Night of the Museums: Museums stay open until late and often offer extra shows. A unique cultural experience after dark.

August: Summer in the city

August in Valencia means enjoying the summer atmosphere and quiet days at the beach. Just keep in mind that August is the very hottest month in the city and all the locals go on vacation then and thus most of the stores will be closed this month.

15 August – Assumption of Mary: Religious celebrations and processions in churches and streets. A national holiday with many local traditions.

End of August –Summer parties at the beach: Enjoy DJs, cocktails and balmy evenings at La Marina. The city is alive, even when the locals are on vacation.

Whole month August - Festival de la Llum 

During the Festival de la Llum you can discover the city through art and light installations. This festival offers a magical experience and is perfect for an evening stroll. Admission is free.



September: Harvest time and Art

September is the harvest time for grapes and other crops, and this is reflected in the events.

Whole month September - Fiesta de la Vendimia 

The Fiesta de la Vendimia celebrates the grape harvest in the region. Enjoy local wines and participate in traditional tastings. Admission is free to most events, but wine tasting tickets start at €5.

Whole month September - Valencia International Movie FestivalFilm buffs can enjoy the Valencia International Film Festival, which shows the latest films from the region. The screenings start from €6 per movie


October: Autumn and Traditions

In October the city celebrates the transition to autumn with various cultural events.

12 October – Día de la Hispanidad: National holiday with flags, music and official celebrations. A day full of pride and culture.

29 October - La TomatinaLa Tomatina is one of the largest food fights in the world, and the event takes place in a village just outside Valencia. Enjoy the chaos and hilarity, participation costs approximately €20.

End of October - Festival de Arte y Cultura This festival offers a combination of art, theater and music throughout the city. Entry is usually free for the open-air performances, and tickets for the theater and music performances start at €10.


November: Autumn and Gastronomy

November brings autumn to Valencia and is the ideal time to discover the city's gastronomy.Beginning of November – All Saints Day: Local families visit cemeteries with flowers. A day of memory and reflection.

November - Feria de la Caza                                                                                                The Feria de la Caza is an event for hunting and outdoor enthusiasts, with many exhibitions and activities. Admission is free, but products and services may vary in price.



December: Holidays and Lights

December is the time for Christmas markets and festive atmosphere in the city.

December - Feria de Navidad The Feria de Navidad is a magical event where you can enjoy Christmas decorations, handmade gifts and treats. Entrance is free, but you can buy nice gifts from €5 to €30. 06 December– Día de la Constitución: Fireworks and family outings during this national holiday. Many shops and museums closed.

24 December – Nochebuena: Christmas Eve is all about an extensive meal with family. Many restaurants offer special Christmas menus.

31 December - Nochevieja The last night of the year is celebrated with fireworks and festivities. The traditional grapes of happiness are eaten at midnight. The festivities are free, and it's the perfect way to end the New Year.
