A visit to the Fallas Museum

The importance of the Fallas

If there is one thing the city of Valencia is known for, it is for hosting the Fallas in March, a festival that has been recognised as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO since 2016. During this month, flames, music, traditional costumes and fireworks are the stars of the streets. But they are not the only ones, as the work of the Fallas artists in the construction of the Fallas and the ninots is one of the main reasons that attracts a large number of tourists every year.

Discover the culture and tradition of the Fallas

Visiting the Fallas Museum, located in the former Convent of the Casa Misión de San Vicente de Paúl in the Plaza de Monteolivete, you can discover a great part of what the fallas represent at any time of the year for only 2€ if you go between Tuesday and Saturday from 10.00h to 19.00h or free if you go on Sunday from 10.00h to 14.00h.

Collections and exhibitions

In it, you will not only find the best ninots, that is, the figures of the big and small falla that are saved from burning every year by popular vote since 1934, but you will also find the evolution of the posters announcing the Fallas as well as costumes, accessories, models and sketches to understand the process of design and construction. In addition, you will also find on display the paintings that are painted every year for the two most important figures of the Fallas: the Fallera Mayor de Valencia and the Fallera Infantil de Valencia. Also, at the end of the exhibition, you will find a documentary video explaining the history, rites and cultural significance of the Fallas, providing an educational and immersive context.
